The primary attributes of Deep Winter are: deep (value) and cool tones.
Therefore, your worst colors are light (value) and warm tones.

How can this information be helpful?
1. Choosing from a limited selection of options
Think about the times you've had to wear a shirt for a company event, a uniform (sports or work), a volunteer event, etc. Typically you have a limited number of pre-selected options and you make your choice from there. Maybe none of the colors are Winter (bummer), so then how do you choose? Rule out any options that are your "worst colors" and make a selection from what remains. (Maybe choose an old favorite you don't wear anymore because it isn't in the Winter palette!)
2. Group photos
I've shared some strategies for group/family photos before, but this is a good tip to add to that info.
When you are thinking about group photos, the reality is you will be standing very close to someone who might be wearing a shirt in a different season and that will impact your appearance. Make sure it isn't one of your worst colors! That would compete with the brightening/wow effect your own clothes and makeup create.
3. Your home
Some people love the idea of decorating their home in their season. This isn't my personal preference, but I'm not here to 'yuck anyone's yum' (lol)
However, if you can avoid painting any of the walls in your home or office "your worst color", you will greatly benefit from it. Think about how often you take photos inside your home. Maybe they are pics from an event or holiday, or just a selfie. It would be such a bummer to have all of the photos you take in the place you spend a large majority of your time always cast an unpleasant light on you.
This is also really important for folks who are on video calls frequently. Pay careful attention to the area where your computer is. Even down to artwork, curtains, etc. that might reflect poorly on your skin.
4. Virtual backgrounds
Thanks to the pandemic, video calls and apps like Zoom skyrocketed in both popularity and ease of access. Shoot, even my elderly grandparents watch their Sunday services through Zoom now!
Many people choose a virtual background in lieu of whatever their current surroundings might be. This can be for privacy reasons (children/family or strangers in a public setting) or just because they may not feel comfortable showing that area of their home or office.
While you skin will still reflect your actual surroundings, the virtual background you choose will still appear in harmony (or not). Avoid a background that includes your worst colors (blended, muted, light, warm).
