Burn out: how color + style can help

I've said this before and I'll keep saying it until the end of time:

The purpose of color + style analysis is to help YOU look and FEEL your best. Period.

Have you ever heard the tip "save your favorite outfit for a bad day"? The premise behind this is: when you don't have the energy (mental or physical) to come up with something to wear, you can count on something you already know makes you feel good. It's a 'no brainer'.

This is the magic of knowing your best colors and your personal style.

1. Simplicity + Harmony

When your wardrobe is full of colors from one season, in theory all of your clothes work together. Sure, there are combinations that are better than others, and creating the right amount of contrast for your personal coloring can help you look more balanced. But at the end of the day, really any colors could be worn together it won't be "wrong" or "clash".

2. Wow Colors

Knowing which colors from your season make you look your absolute best creates a shortlist of option for you. What wow colors are in your closet? Next: which of those is seasonally appropriate? Next: which of those is best for your activity that day (work, event, home, etc.). You've very quickly narrowed it down from your entire wardrobe to a few items to choose from.

3. Dressing for Your Body

If you've gone through any kind of style analysis/body type assessment or just done some reading on your own, you understand the power of dressing for your body. This means: creating balanced proportions and having the tools to minimize the parts that you might feel insecure of uncomfy about. This is especially helpful on days we are burnt out. I find that on days I don't mentally feel my best it is easier to fixate on 'the bad'. Bad things in our life, bad things about ourselves, etc. When you had clothes that already accentuate your best features, it's that little extra confidence boost on a day where you might otherwise pick yourself apart.

4. Feeling Authentic

Knowing your personal style/clothing personality means you know the details that make you feel like you. Sometimes we need reminders of who we are and what makes us unique and beautiful. On a day where you don't feel your best, your wardrobe can remind you just how awesome you really are!
